Project Coordinators are Hands On Orlando volunteers who attend and lead our projects. They also communicate with volunteers who sign up for their projects and the recipient organizations before projects occur, to help insure positive outcomes.

Project Coordinators are responsible, trustworthy, flexible, creative, caring and generally outgoing people. HOO projects engage volunteers who don’t know each other at locations across the community. PCs gain leadership and management experience as they make new friends.

Leverage Your Power...
|
|
Project Coordinator leverage their time and talents to maximize their impact. One volunteer can spend three hours and help a child learn to read. With 20 volunteers, our PC can help 20 girls and boys in the same amount of time!
An experienced PC managed a four hour food sorting project with over 100 volunteers: a 420 hour project. It would take one person two years to accomplish the same result if they worked every Saturday for four hours.
Project Coordinators also help volunteers learn about community issues, solve problems and reflect on their positive impact.

Project Variety...
|

Project Coordinators lead projects that interest them. Our projects are as diverse as birthday parties for homeless children, greeting seniors in nursing homes to renovating playgrounds. Projects are meaningful and hands-on. None involve administrative tasks, walks, runs or fundraising.

Training and Support...
|
|
Orientation takes about one hour. Volunteers who become Project Coordinators (age 16+) also receive our ongoing training and support.
